On May 5, we honour Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people across Turtle Island.

Red Dress Day was inspired by Métis artist Jaime Black and the REDress Project, where empty red dresses were displayed to represent the Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people who are missing or have been taken from their loved ones. Since then, the red dress has become a powerful symbol of remembrance, grief, love, and the call for justice.

Today, we encourage our community to listen, learn, wear red, attend local events, and amplify Indigenous voices. Together, we remember, honour, and stand with Indigenous families and communities.

Earth is home for all of us. It’s where new beginnings happen, where cultures connect, and where communities grow stronger together.

This Earth Day, let’s take a moment to care for the place we share. Small, thoughtful choices today can create a healthier, more welcoming future for everyone.

At IRCOM, we believe that building community also means caring for the environment around us.
