On May 5, we honour Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people across Turtle Island.
Red Dress Day was inspired by Métis artist Jaime Black and the REDress Project, where empty red dresses were displayed to represent the Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people who are missing or have been taken from their loved ones. Since then, the red dress has become a powerful symbol of remembrance, grief, love, and the call for justice.
Today, we encourage our community to listen, learn, wear red, attend local events, and amplify Indigenous voices. Together, we remember, honour, and stand with Indigenous families and communities.

Proud of our youth at the Golden Boy Tournament.
Our girls showed heart in every match, keeping games close and competitive. Our boys brought home gold in their division, a strong result built on teamwork and focus.
Thank you to our coaches for their time and commitment, to staff who came out to support, and to parents and community members who cheered from the sidelines. Most of all, to our players for showing up, giving their best, and representing our community so well.

From weekly drop-in soccer to two dedicated teams, our youth are showing up, building skills, and playing with heart. With indoor season finals around the corner, the energy is high and the focus is real.
What makes this even more meaningful is access. Through support from the Government of Manitoba’s Province of Manitoba – From the Ground Up Program, our athletes are able to participate without barriers. That means more young people getting the chance to play, grow, and feel part of something bigger.

Books, coding, and curiosity all in one space.
Through weekly literacy programs at both sites, children are building strong foundations in reading, numeracy, and STEM. From welcoming guest readers from Millennium Library to hands-on coding sessions with WiseKidnetics, every experience is designed to spark confidence and a love for learning.
We’re grateful to the Canada Post Community Foundation for supporting this work and helping us create meaningful learning opportunities for children in our community.
