Community Resource Program

The Community Resource Program (CRP) at IRCOM aims to build the capacity and life-skills of newcomers to Canada.

CRP works to connect immigrants, refugees and refugee claimants with the resources and support they require in order to succeed in their new environment. CRP and its staff provide newcomers with support services, community linkages, training and referrals that will enable and empower clients to live independently in a Canadian context.

  1. Capacity Building

4. Community Building

Provide opportunities for community development and relationship building amongst residents and clients of IRCOM through events and programming (ie: balcony gardening, family outings, summer celebration, etc.)

Engage newcomer clients in community building activities at IRCOM and in the wider community

On-site community workers assist close to 500 newcomers in their adaptation to life in Canada through orientation to housing, social services, and Winnipeg’s wider community. CRP provides newcomer clients with access to useful tools and resources that assist them to make a successful transition into Canadian life.

Our drop-in office hours are open to any newcomer who comes in. If we can’t help you, we will send you to someone who can. Office hours take place at both 95 Ellen St and 215 Isabel St. Although many of our additional programs and workshops are for tenants of IRCOM only, sometimes we allow advance registration for other newcomers in the neighbourhood to attend. You can register by talking to a CRP staff.
