In September, we came together for Meet the Neighbours, a vibrant gathering held in partnership with amazing partners in the Centennial neighbourhood, especially our good friends at Rossbrook House, stories were shared, cultures connected, and bridges were built between newcomers and Indigenous communities. Thanks to the support of Canadian Heritage, this event sparked meaningful connections across cultures.🌿🤝” #CanadianHeritage @alexjayhamm @rbhwpg @cdn.heritage
Did you see the joy on their faces? Our newcomer kids dressed up and headed out for trick and treating with so much excitement.
Thank you to every staff member and volunteer who helped them get ready and made the day feel special. What this really means is that together we’re creating moments that help families feel connected, confident, and welcomed in their new community.
Grateful for everyone who made Halloween a little brighter for our newcomer families.

IRCOM is deeply grateful to TD for their generous $80,000 contribution, a gift that strengthens the path for newcomer families building their lives here in Manitoba. This support will directly fuel our literacy programs for children, youth, and adults — programs that help newcomers find their voice, grow their confidence, and feel at home in their new community.
Language is the starting point for connection, belonging, and opportunity. With this investment, more families will have access to the tools and guidance they need to learn, participate, and thrive.
Thank you, TD, for standing alongside newcomers and investing in their future.
Your commitment creates real change, one learner at a time. 💞

We had a wonderful time connecting with Wawanea staff at the United Way Agency Showcase. It was a chance to share our work, meet so many engaged people, and celebrate the impact we can create together.
A big thank you to Wawanesa for hosting us and to United Way for bringing partner agencies into one room. Conversations like these remind us how much stronger our community becomes when we show up for one another.

Community Clean Up 2025 felt like a big hug.
Everyone rolled up their sleeves, grabbed gloves and tools, and worked side by side to care for the place we all call home.
Thank you to every tenant, volunteer, and team member who showed up, pitched in, and made a real difference. Your time, energy, and heart are what keep this community strong.

Meet Tadiwa Kutiwa – Social Work Practicum Student at IRCOM
Tadiwa is currently studying Social Work at the University of Manitoba. Having arrived in Canada on her own, she understands firsthand the challenges that come with settling in a new country without family support.
After learning about IRCOM’s mission, Tadiwa felt inspired to join a team that helps newcomers find their footing and build a sense of belonging. She hopes to apply what she’s learning in school to real-world experiences at IRCOM, especially when it comes to addressing policies and systems that don’t always serve immigrants the way they should.
