IRCOM is calling for nominations to join our Board of Directors.
This is a chance to help shape the future of an organization that supports newcomer families through housing, programs, and community services across Manitoba.
We’re looking for individuals who believe in equity, community leadership, and meaningful change and who want to bring their lived experience, skills, and voice to the table.
Nominations are open from February 13 to March 13, 2026, or until positions are filled.

Congratulations to IRCOM’s U16 standout, Nur Othman Mustafa, on committing to the Canadian Mennonite University women’s soccer program.
Nur’s hard work, focus, and love for the game have brought her to this moment. From early practices to big goals, she’s earned every step of this journey. We’re proud of Nur and excited to watch her continue to grow, compete, and thrive as she takes this next chapter forward.
Well done, Nur. We can’t wait to see what you do next.

This Black History Month, we honour the voices, contributions, and resilience of Black communities.
At IRCOM, we are grateful for the leadership, culture, and lived experiences that strengthen our shared community every day.
Azmara’s story is one of the many reasons IRCOM exists.
Azmara arrived in Canada with her family in 2022. When they joined IRCOM, it wasn’t just a place to live. It became home.
Through IRCOM’s Volunteer Program, Azmara built confidence, gained training, and connected with people from different cultures and backgrounds. She even stepped into a Tenant Leader role, helping support others on their journey.
In 2025, her family moved into their own home, carrying forward the skills, memories, and sense of belonging they built at IRCOM.
We wish Azmara continued success as she takes this next step, and we’re proud to have been part of her journey.

Winter story from Isabel`s location!
Our Winter Celebration at Isabel didn’t go as planned. Winter weather shifted the day quickly, and keeping everyone safe came first.
Many of our newcomer families had been preparing through the night, ready to share food, joy, and time together, only to arrive at a very different day. Through the uncertainty, the spirit of the celebration stayed with us.
What really stood out was how our colleagues showed up. Feven, Neveen, Diriba, Frutuna, and our Building Supervisors, Henok and Isaia,s stepped in without hesitation, supporting families and one another with care and flexibility.
Moments like this remind us why this work matters. Thank you for showing what community looks like at IRCOM.
We had a wonderful visit from Amanda, the owner of Oh Doughnuts. She donated several days` proceeds to IRCOM and brought beautiful treats for our community. We’re so grateful for her support.
She shared that recent events in Minneapolis deeply moved her, and it prompted her to think about how these moments affect communities and families. As a gesture of support and awareness, she created a set of special donuts with messages centered on kindness and compassion.

From conversations to celebrations, our Annual Tenant Holiday Party reminded us why community matters. So thankful for the people who make IRCOM a community of belonging.

A belated but heartfelt thank you to the Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg for the generous holiday gifts for newcomer families in our community.
These gifts went directly to families building new lives here and navigating their first winters, first holidays, and first sense of home in Winnipeg. Support like this matters. It reminds people they’re welcomed, seen, and supported.
Thank you for the care and heart you bring to your work, and for helping make the season warmer for newcomer families.
