The After School Program’s Homework and Education for Youth (HEY) Program is going technological! Thank you @telus and @friendlyfuturefoundation FriendlyFutureFoundation for funding new laptops in our program to enhance services for our youth. Additional laptops allow us to give more services to our youth and give them individual time with their technology, not having to wait to start their studies until a laptop becomes available. With new laptops, we are more able to provide support from our wonderful staff and volunteers - and we are able to take one step further into developing our newcomer youth’s education.

On National Housing Day, we proudly celebrate the safe, vibrant homes created through the collaborative efforts of families and staff, fostering a sense of belonging for newcomer families in Winnipeg.
Thanks to our partnership with the Province of Manitoba, IRCOM operates two residential buildings, at 215 Isabel Street and 95 Ellen Street, serves 111 families from over 20 countries. IRCOM remains dedicated to providing safe, affordable, and transitional housing to newcomer families.

We were pleased to welcome the Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute (@cmwi_ca ) for an empowering discussion on navigating change, mental health awareness, and self-care. IRCOM’s recent vaccine clinics were a great success in partnership with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). 109 tenants at IRCOM Ellen received 108 flu shots and 63 COVID-19 vaccines, and 52 clients at IRCOM Isabel received 51 flu shots and 23 COVID-19 vaccines.
Sometimes, our tenants’ children had already received vaccines at school or clinics, so our Public Health nurses were available for those unsure of their vaccine status to check records and help keep everyone up to date.
Thank you to the entire IRCOM team for your dedication and effort in making these clinics possible.

Office Closed for Remembrance Day
Our office will be closed on November 11 in observance of Remembrance Day. We will resume regular business hours on November 12, 2024.
Our little ghosts and goblins had a blast trick-or-treating! The IRCOM kiddos were all dressed up, spreading smiles and collecting plenty of treats along the way! From spooky costumes to sweet surprises, Halloween was unforgettable! We hope everyone enjoyed a night full of laughs, sweets, and magical moments.
